The next version of Internet Explorer is well on its way to being finalized but that may not do much to help its market share. Internet Explorer 8 beta 1 is currently available for download and it does offer a few enhancements over version 7 but not enough to dump Firefox.

Micro$oft is hoping that the new features and speed improvements present in IE version 8 will help it gain back some of the ground it lost to Firefox and it may but that’s not likely.
